Mil Inked
In 2017, Milinda made a daring transition from a successful seven-year career in banking in Sri Lanka to embrace his true passion: tattoo artistry. Starting from the ground up as an apprentice, his journey has been defined by exceptional dedication and a commitment to perfecting his craft.
In 2022, Milinda decided to open his own studio in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to expand his passion and share his knowledge with other tattoo artists in the community. Seeing the potential in an unoccupied space, he had a clear vision for what he wanted. Within just three months, he established Ink Culture, where he brought together a group of artists to create a close-knit and supportive community. His efforts turned Ink Culture into a successful and reputable multi-artist shop, known for its collaborative and supportive environment.
By 2023, seeking new challenges, Milinda moved to Canada. Despite the geographical shift, he continues to manage and train tattoo artists in Sri Lanka virtually, while also building a successful tattoo career in Canada.
With over six years of experience, Milinda has established himself as an award-winning tattoo artist, celebrated for his innovative and versatile approach. He recently expanded his creative horizons by relocating to Canada, where he now works as a resident artist at Calgary’s prestigious Low Life Studios.
Milinda's expertise spans a broad range of styles, including striking black work, intricate geometric designs, captivating mandalas, florals, and ornamental pieces with a touch of detailed neo-Japanese. His distinctive artistry not only highlights his technical skill but also his ability to blend tradition with modern flair, making him a sought-after name in the tattoo community.
